    If the pitching staff stays healthy the Braves should do no worse than the wild-card. They are adequate at every spot except lead-off-hitter.

    like you, i caught the end. wickman looked rattled, up 3-0 facing a bases loaded, nobody out situation in the bottom of the ninth. fuck it.

    The Braves giving Smoltz a contract extension assures that he will retire as a Brave. He and Eckersley are the only two pitchers in major league history with 150 wins and 150 saves. Smoltz has a shot at Cooperstown.
