I think you guys believe I'm pushing for him harder than I am. I like certain things he has shown, but by no means do I think we should annoint him our future. I do believe he has the potential to be a good starting QB, but he has not shown enough yet to be certain he will ever reach that potential. There are plenty of players with skills that bust.

Although, I will say that I think he has decent vision, usually he makes the right read, however, he has yet to show he can make the decision fast enough. What we don't know, though, is if that will come with experience or if he will be one of those players that's always just a step behind. But we knew coming in that he was inexperienced and was a 2-3 year project. So I don't understand the rush to judgement.

True his completions were against a prevent, but so what. That's all he had to play against. And it was the same "prevent" that Weinke faced, with more pressure, and he made the throws while Weinke didn't even come close (unless they were in a Falcon jersey). Yet he was the one singled out. So I was just wondering why it was Fasani that was singled out and not Weinke. And don't mistake me, I don't think he showed anything great, but I also don't think he did poorly either...it was somewhat a nuetral performance.

    >>Half of those passes he got spooked

I couldn't disagree with you more. Pretty much every time he has played (preseason or regular), you say something to this effect. However, I have never seen it. He always seems in control and composed to me. When he scrambles it is out of necessity, but he keeps his head up looking for a receiver to come free. I guess this is one area where we are just going to disagree since we seem to see different things from the same plays. But that's all cool, no one says everyone has to have the same perceptions. Actually, it's good to get different viewpoints.

    >>It'd be neat to think that sideline pass was a throw away attempt, but it was also the same type sideline pass he'd always force into Bright in preseason. And yeah, he was throwing away into double coverage.

If the pass was barely out of bounds I might agree, but it was out by far, and to me, obviously a throw away.

Now while it may seem I am defending him, I am not doing so as if I believe he is the second coming. I just haven't seen anything yet to totally dismiss him from the picture. He is far from a finished product, and I don't think anyone knows just how much he will develop (or not develop). I am simply advocating giving him time before labeling him.

I see the same thing. Fasani is anything but spooked.... You wrote it a bit better than I and I have pretty much talked about all the positives that you have, and again you wrote it a bit better than me...

Good perspective on Fasani overall, I shoot my thoughts through your keyboard next time.... ;)

Well, I don't really see the difference between

    And...

Looks to me like we are saying the same things.

As for why I’m “singling” out Fasani, because he is the only one likely under contract. Weinke won’t be here. Peete won’t likely be here, unless Fox thinks that running a trap play is too complex for someone with no experience in Henning’s system.

In the end, I'm saying I agree with you. He's a talented, but raw prospect who is couple of years away. And I do have concerns about his ability to see the field. That may explain why he wants to roll out so much and why he is more effective doing that.

To me its not about sides, its about acknowledging if you share the same opinion on something.

For the record though, I took your side or should I say, your opinion on this issue to hold more merit. As long as you don't take my side on anything, you should be ok.... :D

Whats wrong with rolling out, Vick, Farve, Garcia, McNabb, others, do some pretty neat stuff when they roll out. I do respect the stay in the pocket guy, but you have to have the right team for that, we don't. We need a QB to roll out 50% of the time or more with our current mix of players... we are not ready for a stay in the pocket kind of guy... IMO

They all have the ability to see downfield. Vision is a bit of a problem for Vick, but only because he's short. You can create throwing lanes for him.

If he can't see down the field without rolling out, he'll won't be able to get better. That's my concern. It's not about escaping pressure.

And when we aren't playing Atlanta, our line hasn't been that bad. Although it's bad now with Tuten in.

OK, but I think Fasani's vision will be fine with time... He had some pretty damn good vision against the 3rd stringers in the preseason, it will come with the first stringers...

I'd like to think that, except most of the success was either on roll outs, sideline throws, runs, or chucking it deep. Vision is not required for those things.

Hopefully its just the speed of the game, but its just a nag I have when he sits there for 4 or 5 seconds and then runs right.

Something tells me will get some more looks this season... since the Bucs will not trade us King for Winky... :D

By the way when is the last day for all that trade shit?
