God exists because the bible says so. The bible is the word of God. Therefore, God exists because he says he does.

    That is circular reasoning.

Did people not believe in God/gods before writing?

No need to apologize -- those people scare me, too. But better that, than no fear of retribution or consequence whatsoever.

Now that being said, I do think there is a part of all of us that if allowed to do whatever it wanted (I'm talking about pure carnal desires), your hell-on-earth description would be pretty accurate. And you can't deny that the headlines are packed with people who, for a wide variety of reasons, are indulging in those carnal desires.

But not without consequences! And it's more than just the harsh judgment of any moral/religious group. Their lives fall apart. Its just truth.

That would be true if that's what I had said. The Bible says God exists, but I don't believe He exists because the Bible says so. What's written in the Bible is just an assertion; a proposition; a premise. It's evidence, no more, no less. But the evidence I've researched which seems to support the existence of God is not at all confined to the pages of the Old and New Testaments.

Are you referring to karma here? If so, I have to say that's surprising coming from you, Harry.

How do you figure the words written in a book written by men is "evidence" of a supernatural creature?

The same way that Plato's works are "evidence" that Socrates existed. Words by themselves are not indisputable proof of something's existence, but they are certainly a form of evidence.
