    He played great, but the Patriots have an awful defense this year. You also have to wonder why Pats DC and rocket scientist Matt Patricia had a backup DE trying to cover Kareem Hunt 30 yards downfield.

    Yeah as that of Chiefs have a huge blow to the soul of the defense. Hate that for Eric Berry as he just signed a new deal.

    You don't draft a QB in the first round just for a lark (unless you're Cleveland). Alex Smith will be released by KC after this season.

    I don't like courts usurping the NFL or any other private enterprise. This country is getting way too 1984-ish.

    He becomes an UFA in 2018, so I suspect you could be right. Then again, if he continues to perform well my hunch says they'll want to keep him around.
