I'm not sure that the panthers aren't a very average 2-0 team. It was interesting the Saints played so well against GB, but then laid an egg Sunday. Did they lay an egg, or was it extracted from them?

The defense has played well. The jury's still out on Darnold, who managed to make a very boneheaded play, which is what folks have said he does regularly.

The OL not opening holes for the run game is disturbing to me.

The Jets suck and the Saints have injuries plus external issues. Both games were at home. I think it's a fair appraisal. I'd put several 1-1 teams ahead of Carolina, honestly.

Detroit's defense is not winning any prizes.

I agree with the top 9 you have being the best currently. However, I think the Raiders will eventually Gruden their way down to middle of the road. Before the year is done I think the Pack and Steelers will be in top 10.
I would put Carolina no better than 16 until they post a W verses a strong healthy opponent. Also think the Vikes could easily be above Pats. This years Cousins might be last years Tannehill.

I'll slot Green Bay in at #13, even though that defense has flaws which even the Lions can exploit for a while. I don't know how Kevin King is still in the NFL let alone starting for a team with Super Bowl aspirations.

It was kind of weird watching the Lions last night and thinking that they may win a respectable amount of games next year.

Goff plus a undermanned defense makes them very chalky. They'll probably beat every team that has a below average quarterback and lose to every team that has an above average quarterback, splitting the difference with all of the others. That translates to six wins. Maybe seven if they catch a break.
