Saban was more than a good college coach though, turned a sanctioned Michigan state into a okay team that scrapped with the big programs, national champs at LSU. There's a reason he was a hot commodity for years before making the nfl jump. If not for the Miami job we might be looking at LSU as the dominant force of 2010s college football.

Saban had a record of 48-15 in five seasons at LSU. He was 91-41-1 in an 11-season career as a college head coach that also included stints at Toledo and Michigan State.

An owner bribing a head coach for losses is so believable that it's not even worth an investigation. These are the sort of things that happen when you incentivize losing, which is exactly what the draft order does.

As for the racist claims, I don't find it hard to believe that owners and executives have racial bias in their hiring practices. My irritation - and I think the irritation of most NFL consumers - is when the media and the NFL starts pontificating at us about racism, which is what all of this feels like. What the fuck does a billionaire's hiring preferences have to do with me? Ya'll are the ones in charge, so go figure this out amongst yourselves at your mandingo parties or whatever you snobby, self-hating shitstains do in your downtime.

 

I found the broncos stuff interesting because I suspect alcohol (and probably harder) abuse is pretty common in nfl front offices which seem to operate like sterling cooper. That's the only way to explain some draft picks.
