I agree that Tepper likely won't be able to spend money on any other coach not named Matt Rhule for a while. If he fired Rhule next Monday, you'd probably get a David Culley type placeholder. Paying two major HC contracts simultaneously is too financially prohibitive, even at Tepper's reported net worth.

The Harbaugh idea is moot, since he wouldn't leave Michigan to come deal with this clusterfuck. I'm just pointing out the fact that he was wildly successful at his NFL stop. He's not Urban Meyer or Steve Spurrier. He'd still be coaching the 49ers if their former GM wasn't a headhunting doofus.

I agree w you on Tepper.

    Big pocketbook. Little knowledge.

Equals large swings to the left and to the right hoping that he is lucky

The offense was a little closer to a analytics driven offense in 2020, and Bridgewater is closer to a guy you'd want as the QB of that offense. I don't think he's a good quarterback, but he fits that "get the ball out short and quick so we can ignore the offensive line" model.

That's one of the ways that I know the team is throwing darts instead of following a plan. Even Stafford or Watson don't fit that mold. Darnold was literally the worst fit you could conjure up - a guy who holds the ball forever and can't throw deep. This is how you end up having to run Chuba Hubbard on 1st and 2nd down to set up 3rd and 9.

Yep. The no plan Panthers could not imagine that if you see certain things you like in a QB, but know that he is shell shocked after being in an offense with no protection, that all you have to do is put him in an offense with even less protection, and he will flourish.

    Solid plan

I'm tempted to start a Fire Matt Rhule GoFundMe for David Tepper.

“Sources say owner David Tepper is unhappy and embarrassed after the $16 billion hedge fund manager gave Rhule a seven-year, $62 million deal to outbid the New York Giants for his services"

The bold part is all that matters. He's unhappy that he paid gourmet prices for mcdonalds results but ultimately he's going to eat the fucking cheeseburger.

We will clearly see what Tepper is made of soon. Is he serious about developing a “winning culture”. . .. IMO there is no proof so the above.
At this point it would just be nice to see proof that he even has common sense

Unluckily for Tepper there is only one beginning to a season.
Luckily for Tepper there is only one end to a season.

Not all of us. Alex Smith really began to blossom under JH and turned into one of the top QB's in the league under Andy Reid. Under Mike/Nolan and Singletary a lot of people questioned his toughness without the knowledge that he was 21 when he started his first game and had 7 OC's in 7 years. What happened to him in Washington shut that down. AS is one of my all time favorites.

FWIW, I think JH to Carolina would yield quick results. Maybe not a SB, but a regular playoff contender.

    Any other names out there?
