Or lose every one at the end by a touchdown or less?

If I knew the first team could play 4 quarters of football (conditioning) - I would say hell yes we are going to win some games, maybe even half of them. It was a little scary to watch our defense fade out one by one, they looked like they were gonna keel over even after they had been on the bench a few minutes. Its obvious the difference our first string line makes, so those guys will need to stay healthy and play 4 quarters of football.

Sandman, I sure hope you're right. This shit is really pissing me off. The end of last season I was so frustrated I would have gone out on the damn field and tried to strangle some of those guys, Seifert included. They damn well better win a few home games this year. I don't like to start putting down my team but damn these guys try your patience.

yeah. No worries. I know you're putting emotional investment into these games but we won two last year and it didn't get us dick. So just wait until we can get consistent and start playing teams that don't carry top ten defenses. The wins won't be constant but they'll be there.

Actually I feel totally positive about that game. The Panthers dominated on offense and defense for 2 quarters. Yea, the cowboys came back but most of the guys they made the comeback on are scrubs that won't be around long.

IMO, Goings and Hankton won't make this team. They couldn't afford many mistakes before that game - and both had really bad mistakes in the game.

Positives - The entire defense, running game, Weinke, WRs, Saurbrun and Kasay all impressed.

Negative - our depth isn't good and the second teams show big dropoffs in talent across the board.

Question: I didn't see Kyle Johnson at all. Is he hurt????

I was whooping it up with the 1st team. Man they dominated the way the Panthers have never done. The only nagging thing that I felt was that they didnt put the game away in the 1st half the way they needed to. I kept saying to myslef that we needed to be scoring TD's not field goals. I was encouraged again by Foster and very encouraged by Peps. He displayed some of that quickness and athleticism that weve all been hearing about. Especially on the play that he had to cross the line of scrimmage to stop. Overall I liked the Weinksters play and Steve Smith looked good. Tough break with Bates, it was nice to see some of the players take exception on the following special teams play. This years squad resembles a team more than they have since the 96 season. That should help when times get tough. I was sick about the loss but I know we have to keep it in perspective. Lets face it against the skins the 1st team played flat, this time it was the second guys, given the choice I'd rather the second guys be flat than the studs. On a side note even on Madden 03 they have Foster playing better than Smith.

If we lose all 4 preseason games, not one person will remember if we beat the Ravens on 9/8.

In 1996, we went 12-4. Anybody care what happened in the preseason?

I don't care what happens in preseason other than I think this team needs a win from a psychological standpoint. I'd at least like the team going into the regular season thinking they CAN win.

It'd help me psychologically too. Maybe I'd quit being such a psycho. ;)

I think he's slipped below Nick Goings on the depth chart... which basically means he's fodder.
