Definitely different. Madonna follows Mystic Judaism which is known as Kabbalah. I don't think anything of it.

Messianics are Jews who believe that Yeshua(Jesus) is the Messiah. Though not Jewish, we wanted to get back to the Hebrew roots of our faith.

    Very.

If I'm not mistaken, Kabbalah is a sect of Judaism that focuses more on the spiritual nature of the religion rather than the Law and prophets. It's a lot more flexible that way, making it more celebrity-friendly.

Edit: Lainey beat me to it. :D

It sounds pretty cool. Is that the group that gets credited as "Jews for Jesus"?

No, we are not the Jews For Jesus but I have heard of them. They tend to take on the mission of converting Jews and we are not about that.

Here is the website for our congregation:http://www.shofarofephraim.com/

David is very much an extrovert; he's never met a stranger.

I just wish I could keep up with him in the wine-drinking department. :(

I am so jealous of your trip Lainey! How wonderful! David and I have thought about going, but at this stage it's more of a pipe / long term dream. I've been reading about the Messianic Jews, and it's kind of interesting to me. Really I suppose as it's another reason why I'm drawn to Judaism - that ability to shift and have sectors that believe in differing things is welcomed, not shunned as with other cultures and religions. I'm finding the whole journey into this so fascinating and intriguing and I think in doing so, I'm also understanding and appreciating other religious beliefs and where it fits in with where the world is today :).

People tell me I have an abnormally large Schnozz(nose), so I feel like I have something in common with the Jews also.:agreed:
