Really. If you don't mind, what led to that decision for him? I'd be interested to know. :)

No, I don't mind answering at all :).
He was raised in an Orthodox Jewish family and to cut a long story short, Judaism for him is not just a religion, but his culture and what it represents for him. I think the reason why he's re-embracing (if that's a word?) his Jewish culture is that he credits it for `grounding' him in the past and with my questions, and the reconnection with the synagogue it has just reaffirmed his link with his culture and religious beliefs. He's always been very proud of his Jewish faith and heritage, and given that he's a complete extrovert (really, ask Fred and Muff), this just fits with it really.

Don't know if that all makes sense really, but if you met him - you'd say "oh yes!". Might make a bit more sense :).

Nah, to say the women have big noses and the men are cheap would be racist.

We (Ben and I) have been studying Judaism for a few years now.We joined a Messianic congregation a year ago and we love it. Our Rabbi and his wife have become our closest friends and for Jews, they ain't too bad!

Seriously though, Judaism is a life unto itself. I have so much respect for their dedication to the Torah and to their tradition. Ben and I are headed to Israel next February and I can't wait to experience it firsthand.

Actually, they all have big noses and they're all cheap, except for the exceptions. I think racism is underrated. Judgementalism is the bad one. You can make relatively accurate generalizations all day long, but as soon as you use those thigns as a reason to condemn someone or a group of people, it's negative.

Is that different than all that Qabbalism stuff that Madonna is into?
