Yes it is true that Bill Cosby bought out the rights to the Little Rascals and edited out the more racist material before he would let them play on TV.However, there is a box set you can buy that was out a few years ago that is uncut and probably funnier.

Ted Turner did similar things with the older cartoons he bought for Cartoon Network, regardless of the fact that these were the same exact cartoons he had seen as a kid.....there have been no new Looney Tunes Cartoons made since the early 60's. By the time they made it from the movies to the TV, they had already been cut to shit for "questionable material."

I hear you loud and clear on that. I'd love to get my hands on a full set of WB cartoons uncut.

They are out there...you just have to be persistent to find them. Here in NY, abot 8 months ago, a new local station started up.

They had really cheesey programming, including some real cheap cartoons that most stations would never touch.

One cartoon that cought my eye was a Bugs Bunny cartoon.

Some of you might remember it, the one where the hunting dog is chasing Bugs and he runs back and forth through the hollow log?

Instead in this one, it was an older , un altered version where the dog was a barefooted, pink lipped little black kid chasing Bugs. The way the kid talked and acted were obviously not meant to be complimentary.

I was amazed that this caroon even aired. The second time I saw it i was lucky enough to tape it to prove to my friends i wasnt full of shit.

They played that clip at the beginning of ALL ABOUT THE BENJAMINS (Ice Cube movie from year or two ago . . the racist redneck was watching it in his trailer) . . . I've also seen the unedited cartoon where Elmer & Bugs sing blackface with a bunch of soliders in some Western-themed cartoon (he was asked by Elmer if he had one last wish . . . Bugs sayz 'I wish I was in DIXIE, hurrah, hurrah' . . . The edited version ends it right here). Can't remember where I saw it at . . It wasn't on a TIME WARNER outlet (Cartoon Network, TNT).

    We know different.:D

It's not just the 'racist' ones that are censored. It's also the ones with excessive violence. I've seen the full version of the one with Bugs Bunny and the bull only one or two times. I never knew just how bad the bull gets it before he hits the wall at the end. That's my favorite WB cartoon of all-time.

Chuck Jones was the master at animated facial expressions. That look the bull gets when he realizes he can shoot bullets with his horns just floors me every time.

One of my favorites too. I don't think Cartoon Network is as guilty of dicing the WB cartoons up as much as some posters are letting on though. a lot of local stations do though. I saw the bull recently and it had all of the violence intact as best I can remember.

Also, for those of you looking for some of those earlier objectionable cartoons in their original form, check out the "June Bugs" marathon coming up on the Cartoon Network in - you guessed it - June.

I'm a huge fan of Chuck Jones. I even liked the Tom & Jerry cartoons he did when he left WB for MGM. His style was totally different from the earlier Tom & Jerry's ..and for that reason many people thought they werent as good...but to me they were great.

The Bugs Bunny with the Bullis funny...I also like the one with the ornage monster.....and the ones with Daffy Duck v Bugs Bunny.....Duck Season, Wabbit Season....

    oh yeah...and of course......HASAAAAAAN CHOP!!!!!
