The rumor was Avery had academic problems and probably would not have been eligable the next Fall.

That was one reason Stackhouse left.

No one questions that Avery left too early, but he was a good player. High school guys sit on the bench for a couple of years before coming into their own. Why did Avery wash out of the league so quickly?

Who knows, he sure seemed to have NBA level talent at Duke.

I hope some of those guys stay, it would suck to go from national champs to a non-qualifier.

    if they are all gone

    F David Noel
    F Byron Sanders
    C Tyler Hansbrough
    G Reyshawn Terry
    G Quentin Thomas

Certainly not a stellar lineup but it'll have to do. Sanders sucked as a freshman but he was thrown to the wolves when May broke his foot. He looked decent during garbage time and may actually be one of those surprise seniors that comes from nowhere - he won't be a star, probably still has hands of stone, but he'll log alot of minutes.

Grant - I wonder if he'll ever play again - considering he has rested his knees for two years now if he can't play they need to cut him loose. Green, Ginyard and Frasor will all play alot of minutes as backups, fresh legs because Roy will keep running. I don't see much scoring there - probably way too many turnovers. Hopefully they get better by seasons end and can make a late run.

I say UNC has two average years facing them until they get back to being a contender.

say sanders does become a standout senior and gets acc player of the year and then doesn't do jack in the nba, does that tarnish his college achievements?
