I love coach Gut. Always have. BUT, they just ain't no inside players TO coach. May is good but Grant and Sanders are horrible. Jawad is skeered to go inside. But he'll match up well against an equally frail Randolph. The two of em way about the same as one of Big Jelly's floaters. Where is the Jellymeister anyway? I was hoping he could go pro. I like him.

I have never bashed Gut's coaching ability in practice or his ability to develop big men. Game coaching and recruiting on the other hand.... But to Mark's point, there were a BUNCH of times last night when there were 4 Heels standing JUST FUCKING STANDING outside the arc. Move, you idiot. What ever happened to the back screens that the Heels used to run? This all falls down to the coach, and it can't continue. You don't have to be big to set a screen. Hell, that was Carolina's bread and butter play for 25 years. Point guard dishes to the wing, then sets a back screen for the center who takes the entry pass for a lay up. This is not that hard.

    My opinion of Doh?

He is relying on the Carolina name to recruit talent. He is not teaching or coaching his kids anything. If he has more talent than the other team he wins, if not he loses. Very soon talented kids will see this and Carolina will lose its good name the only thing left it has going for it.

He's a young coach. From what I've seen he can't make adjustments. When they were up by 15 Shyatt called timeout and made adjustments. When they came back Doh was stupified. Same way last year. He has a hard time coming up with the right play at crucial moments. I wouldn't say he isn't teaching them anything. He has some good mentors and knows a lot of basketball.

Nope - we will still have the courtyard of the 3 girls dorms where the coeds lay out in bikinis. This is a staple of all recruiting trips for all sports.

Edit - men's sports (and probably field hockey too)
