:laugh1: I just checked: Furman has released their schedule and, guess what? No I-A team on the schedule!! That's hard to believe. For years it was Clemson, and occasionally UNC. Last year it was Pitt (who we almost beat). The four non-conference games are:

    1) an opener against Jacksonville St.,who Furman beat handily in the first round of the playoffs, but this time its at their place

    2) Samford, who's also in the Ohio Valley Conf. with Jacksonville St.

    3) Hofstra, from the Atlantic 10 - used to be a power house, but went 5-6 last year, and

    4) Gardner Webb, from the Big South Conf. - same as Coastal Carolina.

Damn, I was just looking at the Big South rankings: Coastal Carolina, who's program is only 2 years old, just went 10-1, and won the conference title!! Un-freakin-believable! I knew they were a new program, but not that new.

Wow. Just did some more research on Coastal. They've got a helluva coach in David Bennett. Look at this record:

    Year School Record Highlights
1995 Catawba 7-3 SAC & AFCA Coach of the Year
    1996 Catawba 9-2 SAC Championship
    1997 Catawba 8-3
    1998 Catawba 6-4
1999 Catawba 11-2 SAC Championship; NCAA D-II Playoffs, SAC Coach of the Year
2000 Catawba 11-1 SAC Championship; NCAA D-II Playoffs, SAC Coach of the Year, AFCA Region Coach of the Year
2001 Catawba 11-2 SAC Championship; NCAA D-II Playoffs and South Region Championship, advanced to national semifinals, SAC Coach of the Year, AFCA Region Coach of the Year
2002 Coastal Carolina n/a Developed program as first-ever coach
2003 Coastal Carolina 6-5 Winning record in school’s inaugural season
2004 Coastal Carolina 10-1 Big South Championship, Big South Coach of the Year, AFCA Region Coach of the Year

Overall - Nine Years 79-23 5 Titles, 5 Coach of the Year Awards, 4 Region Coach of the Year

That dude's never had a losing season. I wouldn't be suprised to see Coastal moving into the Southern Conference sometime in the next decade, if he continues to coach that kind of success.
