Many BB experts not picking the G-men to finish in the top two of the NL west. I say BS! Good pitching, a few decent sticks in the lineup, and of course Bonds will keep the G-men at the top of the NL west.

After Jason Schmidt, what pitching are you referring to? The West is a crap shoot. Whomever comes out will be an underdog to either the Cubs, Astros or Phils in the playoffs IMO

The starting rotation will look like this:

    1. Schmidt
    2. Jerome Williams-Did a great job for 3/4 of the season. Was called up from AAA Fresno when someone was injured. Good stuff, throws hard. Only 22 years old. Draws many comparisons to the young lefy from the Marlins.
    3. Bret Tomko--As good as or better than most #3 guys on the depth chart. A crafty veteran.
    4. Kirk Reuter-Has a higher winning percentage of any lefty over the last 20 years. Always seems to get the job done.
    5. Jessee Foppert--21 year old who pitched admirably during his rookie campaign last year.

One thing the Giants have that others do not is chemistry. Aside from Bonds and Kent the Gmen really haven't anybody stand out at you over the last 10 years, but they always seem to get the job done.

Are you kidding about he Phillies? The Stros will be very good. Cubs should be very good too.

I agree. New park and a whole lot of top quality free agent aquisitions. I really like their manager, Bruce Boche a whole lot.

yeah, Giles, Nevin, Klesko is a pretty good middle of the lineup to me. I like the Padres too. That new ballpark kicks ass.

OK guys, this isn't a Padres thread. What about the Giants? I still say they are the team to beat in the NL west.

I'm a Giants hater, so you probably don't want to talk to me about it. But for the record, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them finish first or second in the west. Bastards.
