Johnny Depp is a good actor and a cutie pie, but me thinks we'll pass on this one. Jim Carrey or Robin Williams would've been more suitable for the lead, IMO.

There was a calmness that Wilder brought to his insanity that I couldn't see in Robin Williams or Jim Carrey. I can't stand Johnny Depp anyway, much less this fake polished bullshit version. Wouldn't see it if my life depended on it.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I loved Gene Wilder. I just don't think that Johnny Depp makes a good Willy Wonka. Edward Scissorhands was one thing.

My son is going to see it tonight. I'll give you the 12-yr old review later. Has Hollywood run out of ideas, so we're now into remakes?

    Enough with the remakes

My thoughts exactly. Lately, it's been "Bewitched," "The Hooneymooners, "The Dukes of Hazzard," and "Kojak." What's next, a remake of "I Dream of Jeannie" with an all-black cast? This time we'll call it "I Dream of Jaleesa."

I don't like to be so negative, but I really hate remakes, whether it be songs or movies. Nothing beats the original.

:woot: Sure to be better than the original!

I heard something on the radio this week that Disney had signed Lindsay Lohan for a remake of Swiss Family Robinson. What's next from the Mouse Movies, a remake of Old Yeller starring a pit bull from the 'hood?

(Patti will probably cry after viewing that movie too.)

    Lindsay Lohan = no talent

Oh, my goodness! Do not get me started on Lindsay Lohan. She gets major points off for her involvement in the new "Herbie" movie, which I'm told was gawd-awful.

Unfortunately, production for "I Dream of Jaleesa" will have to wait until L'il Kim is released from prison.
