Copied this from a PM I sent to someone, it's about me. There's one edit now, fever, 100.2 (just took it). Also, I am definitely now going to Urgent Care tomorrow after work...I just want to know your thoughts on what it could be and whether or not they'll send me to the hospital. I really, REALLY do not want to go to the hospital. The pills I refer to are oxycodone for those that don't know, I've been taking it the entire time for the pain, but the pain has graduated to where I can feel it through the pills.

Honestly, I don't know what it is because I haven't been to the doctor. I don't go to the doctor because I have no insurance, and I'm still trying to pay for the $22K hospital bill from having my appendix out last November. Whatever it is is really bad, pain that is worse than my appendix pain was, all across my lower abdomen and radiating downwards. Pain so strong it makes me shake and I've broken out in cold sweats. I have a very high tolerance for pain too, and that's bad because I'm stubborn. I can't stand up straight or walk, sitting hurts, and laying down makes the pain radiate upwards into my ribcage and shoulders. I hoped it was gas, or constipation, or...well anyway everything works fine in those areas and the pain is still there after 4 days. Don't yell at me, I KNOW I really need to go to the doctor, ER really, but I'm stubborn and I can't afford it. I know the pills only mask the pain and don't fix the problem, but I really wanted to participate in the TBR weekend and without the pills I had leftover from my appendix surgery that would not have been possible. I'm now suffering with the pain because I want to save the pills for work so that I don't have to call out. There has been no fever, so it's not an infection, but my stomache is distended, hard, and very tender to the touch (has been the entire time too). I'll most likely head to Urgent Care after work tomorrow, but I'm really scared that they'll send me to the hospital by ambulance and I can't afford any of that. :worried:

I appreciate not wanting to go to the doctor and not wanting to owe more money and yada yada yada....however- you could have an obstruction from scar tissue from your surgery or various other maladies.
Listen- belly pain isn't something to play with- I'm serious, especially for this long. It could be-

Adhesions/obstruction (yes you can have a partial obstruciton and still not be constipated)
Ovarian Cyst- doesn't usually present with a fever, not as dangerous unless it torques
Ectopic pregnancy- you won't necessarily miss a period with this and could be criticial
Kidney stones- not as likely with the pain presenting in front but have seen it happen
Gall stones- would likely be nauseated and more sickly feeling than just pain
pancreatitis- unlikely as you should have a fever, nausea and vomiting

These are the first things off the top of my head- it's important that you go tomorrow or sooner if anything changes Derby, being conservative is one thing, but having some common sense is quite another. Again, belly pain isn't something you play with. I wish I had realized this sooner, I woulda talked some sense into you.

My very first thought when I realized it was not just going to go away, was that maybe they fucked up my surgery somehow. But that was November, would've thought something would've happened before now.

Pregnancy, not possible. It's been so long my hymen grew back.

No nausea, no vomiting, and I just noticed fever tonight when I began alternating hot and cold. Hmmmm. Things to think about.

First thing I noticed this morning when I got up was that my head/hair was sopping wet. Apparently my fever came back after the tylenol wore off overnight and ran rampant. I took more tylenol after my shower this morning and my fever is back under control. Last reading was 97.7 at 8:40 this morning, and yes I brought my thermometer to work with me :tongue3: Oh, and I just want to say: GOD I HATE COLD SWEATS! As for the pain itself, it's still there - set up house and made itself comfortable, doesn't look to be moving out anytime soon.

I'mma call Metrolina Medical Research and see if any of the other study participants have presented with these symptoms. I'm just curious if the study drugs have anything to do with it. Otherwise, I'm planning to hit Urgent Care this afternoon on my way home.

    Fever + pain = bad.

Honestly - you should go to the hospital right now.

Ahhh - I'd forgotten about that study. Yes, call them immediately and make a huge fuss. It could very well be the reason. The only other thing that comes to mind is either your back or pelvis (I know, I'm keeping it kinda broad ain't I). When one of my ovarian cysts bursts a year or so ago, it honestly brought me to my knees. The pain was so bad I could barely breath and walking was out of the question. That only lasted for an hour or so, but by God - I'll never forget it. Get well soon Derby and keep us posted :).

This ain't sounding right. You need to go to the hospital or doctor and quit masking the pain with drugs. Don't sound like nothing to play with here.
    Endometitis maybe ????

Just got off the phone with the people at MMR. After noting all my symptoms and conferring with Dr. Rad, he's requested that I come to see him this afternoon, free of charge, instead of going to Urgent Care. They do not think it's study related because of the length of time I've been on the meds. Apparently something has him worried though, for him to request to see me.

I'm glad I called them. I had forgotten that every little thing has to be reported to them because of the study. I had also forgotten that they basically take over your medical history for the period of time that you're in a study and everything is free. I'll let you guys know what he says :)

Derby, you need to see a doctor ASAP. And I appreciate the fact about not wanting to go to the doctor because you don't have insurance and all of that but you are young and could get an individual health insurance policy for major medical only for very little per month. It's definately worth it.

Keep us posted and for God's sake take care of yourself.

Edit: I missed your last post.
