Riveting, powerful, well-told story. Great performances all around. I highly recommend this movie!;)

What is it about? The trailers don't make me want to see it at all.

I liked Men of Honor. Is it similar?

It's not quite like "Men of Honor," but it is a great story of personal triumph all the same.

Basically, "Antwone Fisher" is about a black sailor who has to face his violent childhood as the key to his anger in order to find closure and true inner peace. Dr. Davenport, the naval psychiatrist, played by Denzel Washington, attempts to assess and treat a combative Fisher, who doesn't realize the doc might need a shrink of his own to help him face his personal problems at home as well.

I won't reveal any more of the story. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.

I've been burned too many times by shitty Denzel Washington movies. Joihn Q was just plain horse shit. I won't be duped again.

Plus, when the trailers spew forth this shit describing movies as "Powerful!" "Gripping!" and "Sensational!" that's a pretty good sign that it's a shitty movie. That and if it has Denzel Washington in it.

Absolutely! And so were Glory, A Soldier's Story, Crimson Tide, The Hurricane, The Pelican Brief, etc.

    :p Don't knock Denzel, Grid. He's a fine actor.

He may be a fine actor, but his movies suck. Training Day was pretty good, I'll agree, but most of the rest are horse shit.

I truly doubt you've seen all of Denzel Washington's movies. They weren't all bad, grid. Lighten up!
