Eli's definitely staying. Clausen, I imagine, will as well and he was one of the ones I was figuring to be there. Ragone will probably be gone, if we do in fact think he's what we need. Grossman's just not worth it as a first rounder to me. To a team with high needs at QB and not much need of anything else (Pittsburgh, for one) then maybe later first round. Where we'll be picking, Rex is horrible value. If he were there in the 2nd I'd look. Simms I wouldn't even look 2nd round.

Simms is the name brand for certain, Grossman the trendy brand.
I think Lorenzen is the George Foreman brand. Drafting him, you should get a side of hushpuppies.

On the other hand, if this team really does like Grossman, they could probably grab him in the 2nd anyway. I'd rather not, but who's to say.

Ok, now that we're on the subject of Ragone, how high do you think he will go? We'll go ahead and pencil in the Bungles for the #1 pick, and they should (unless they're on crack, which cannot be discounted) pick Leftwich. Where would Ragone go? And is he worth trading up for?

I’ve only watched him in spurts, so I’ll have to defer to what the scouts say. Sometimes they are wrong. I didn’t see a lot of velocity that I saw with McNabb, but again, haven’t watched him that much.

Hard to say, but QBs seem to take a life of their own. Could go top 5, depending on the team.

I'm kinda cool on drafting a 1st round QB.

I look around the league at good QB's, seems most weren't first rounders. Greise, Garcia, Warner, Brady, Fiedler, Brooks, Gannon, hell more than I can think of.

It seems for every Manning, theres a dozen or so Akili Smiths.

I dunno. I'm not gonna pretend i know what's best. I know we've got Weinke and Fasani in the system, getting reps. I know rookie qb's struggle, and i'm not really excited about a season with a rookie qb. I know qb's that AREN'T 1st round picks can be given a couple of years on the pine, and don't have the pressure of the world on them to succeed.

I say we don't draft a first round qb. Of course, if we get a Peyton Manning out of it, I'm all smiles.

Thats a good point. Although, Leftwich, Manning and Ragone almost seem like "can't miss" QB's, kind of like Carr and Harrington were in this past draft. (BTW, I'm going to keep mentioning Manning until he definitely says, "No way in hell am I leaving early." My reason? He will be a top 5 pick, no question, if he comes out. Thats a lot of money to risk another year of college on. I always say that if a player is a lock to be a top 10 pick, he should come out early.) You know, I seem to have found kindred spirits with this draft talk. I'm the kind of person who, when playing xbox, will simulate the first 3 seasons, just so I can go through the draft and FA and build the all-star team before I actually play any games.
    :D

I simulate every season unless I make playoffs.

I'm on season 22. Think I'll go play now.

I've been known to do that too when I play PC Madden, especially if the FA market isn't any good. I LOVE the post season on Madden! :D

We need a Mark Carrier/Patrick Jeffers-the injury type FA. Not a major WR just a servicable one. A rookie WR will not produce enough the first year.

This is pretty much true. While I don't want to say he's not good, I didn't find Harrington and Carr as top 3 guys. Ragone's probably a top 20 player who will go in the top 11.

I believe he did in fact say that. No link offhand.
