Anthony Bright apparently takes back his "I forgave him" from Smith.

This paragraph tells me everything I need to know. He wasn't on the verge of anything. He was doing everything he could to hang on with a team that had WR problems. And the fact that they are suing the Panthers for resigning Smith is fucking nuts. The team forced Smith to go to anger mgmt. and suspended him. I honestly have no problem with Bright suing Smith, but not based on the grounds he did, and the fact that they aren't mentioning all the sums of money at this point looks like they're simply seeking a big pay day.

Bright is a little late on this one.

if you punch someone in the face and send them to the hospital....you will have to pay them some money if they sue. Smith is a hothead..he's toned it down since then but he is still a hothead.

I agree and like I said I have no problem with his lawsuit in general against Smith. But to say he cost him a career is wrong. For starters he's played on the Falcon's squad last year, and the suit against the Panthers will get thrown out.

No, he waited until Smith had big time assets.

Bright was given a chance by the Panthers. I don't remember a bidding war for his services and from what I remember he couldn't catch the ball when it was thrown to him. He had already been cut before the fight in the first place.

Does anyone have stats on the number of practice squad players that eventually go on to big paydays?

I thought he was on the Texans last year! Did they cut him do to a pre-existing medical condition?

I'm sick of every asshole in this country who can't or won't take responsibility for their situation. It is always someone else's fault. If the guy can play in arena league then he could play in the NFL if he was good enough.

I hope the jury awards him a nickel.

the panthers were 1-15 that season and injury plagued, right? he could argue he would have been activated and put on the regular squad...and played in games. playing in games is a lot better way to stay in the NFL than bounce around on practice squads.

some players suck in practice and are good in games...some players are standouts in practice and suck in games.

He was in the work place and attacked...he is looking for damages only from the Panthers....10K....he is looking for punitive(sp) damages from Smith....he is entitled to every cent.....a good attorney could get a stress claim out of the Panthers if they wanted.
