He's always taken too much heat. From the injury thing, which he usually fought through until coaches forced him to take a seat a game; he even took heat for being a Muslim (he's not). He gets shit for dropping passes and yet he's dropped fewer than the starter opposite him the only two years anyone paid attention to drops.

It's my opinion. Just because you might not agree, doesn't make it wrong, doesn't make it right. I know you're always right about everything, though so I'm sorry to have an opinion. :229031_ha

    Memories.....

Muhammad is easily the finest clutch receiver the Panthers have had in their brief history. If the 16 TDs in 2004 don't impress, I refer you to the 2003 playoff season: the fumble recovery in St. Louis for a TD, which still defies the eye; the easy catch in Philadelphia when the vaunted Eagles DBs apparently had a brain freeze; and, of course, the record-setting 85-yarder in the Super Bowl. Seems to me he earned every penny.

equal opportunity - while I can wait to watch people prove they're being irrational, I like to act on the instinct. It saves time.

I'm not always right. I've just heard enough people whining about Muhammad his entire career to know what's true and what isn't.

I've argued with much worse. Weakhavoc isn't a dumbass, he's just got something against Muhammad.

So meanwhile, if Moose sucks this bad, why have pretty much all his seasons been that much better than comparable "big" receivers of more modern times like Gardner, for instance, or Plaxico Burress? Gardner had similar problems, in coaching he's had it worse, and in QBing he didn't have to deal with any Fasanis or Lytles, but he's not had a consistent situation - and Gardner, without the injuries, performed worse. Burress with consistent coaching AND good QBing (or, at least consistent...wait, yeah, I can't call Kordell consistent), couldn't put together more than one year.

So basically, we're agreeing that Muhammad is no Jerry Rice. He's no Randy Moss. He's not a superstar, and I don't think anyone's argued that - to think Moss or Rice "saved" their franchises from mediocrity? Nope, they never did, not by themselves. So it's tremendously unfair to expect Muhammad to have done so, and otherwise, he's performed as well as expected or greater than expected in every season in averages.
And what he does, he does very well. With the spotlight on him, he outperformed every receiver in the league, with 32 years on him. Where I come from, that doesn't suck.

So blame it on me if you gotta, if you've got no better arguments; but at least think before you bash.

You're entitled to an opinion, just as others are entitled to a reaction. I don't think it needs to go beyond that.

I agree with your as far as letting Moose go, but I don't think it means we must degrade what he did for the Panthers. He was ALWAYS an important part of the team. Was he great? No. Were him numbers inflated because of Smith's injury? Certainly open for debate. But I give the man a lot of credit for stepping up his game at the #1 spot. Without him, we would have had no chance to save our season.
