    From ESPN Insider:
Phillies GM Pat Gillick conceded the obvious and told local reporters that the team's chances of re-signing center fielder Aaron Rowand are a "long shot," reports ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick. The Phillies love Rowand's grit and presence in the clubhouse, but some people in the organization think he might have to move from center field to left in a year or two, and 25 homers and 80 RBIs wouldn't be anything special for a corner man. Where Gillick is concerned, the shorter the contract, the better. It remains to be seen if Rowand and his agent, Craig Landis, can get five years from another club.

I think it's pretty obvious that Jones is the better player. Both have been great defensive centerfielders, but both are declining (Jones had more put outs in '07). Then Andruw has nearly double the career homers despite being two years younger, and he has a significantly higher career OPS. Really, though, the reason it's a far better deal is that it's for only two seasons. Hunter is going to be terrible at age 37, but he'll still be making $18 million.
