well, there's no denying the panthers were in a PR nightmare the past few years. we don't need to run through it all, but it includes fred lane, rae carruth and kerry collins.

i'm ok with them keeping it their business. they aren't required to tell anyone by the league office. players that are abusing drugs have problems -- emotional or mental -- that are (probably) best solved out of the public microscope.

i hope this is the kick in the pants rashard needs to get his life in order.

    Most likely not.

It's unfortunate, but the stats are VERY bad. Lung Cancer has a better recovery rate than drug addiction.

I'm not even going to comment on the drug thing, it's obvious how we all feel about it. My question is where do we stand now? Do we have a legitamate chance at landing ED? I know he was pretty pissed when he left town last time, and although we've been lucky with Kevin Greene and Micheal Bates, I'm not sure we can square things up with Eric so easily.

Eric has already stated that the only team he will play for is the Panthers.

It's all good, if we want him.

Oh hell, bring him on then. We'll get back to '96 eventually.

I actually bet that he stays through the end of the year. He counts against us anyway, he stays in rehab anyway, cut him next February and save a few thousand extra.

    It's a shame, though.

Goddam. You CANT do WORSE with 1st rounders.

This absolutely makes the 2 picks for Gilbert look like a smart move.

It's a new era, indeed. At least last year's and this year's draft picks seem to be right the fuck on. We could be a good team this year. Weinke and the CB's are my only real concern.

I wasn't going to mention it, (but since someone else did) this is exactly what I was thining after your first post and the use of the word "cursed" Meat. The Bengals have actually had a better last couple of years than the Panthers too.

I'm sure this post is not much consolation either.
