    Question

Can we cut him without oweing the bastard future money

This could be a blessing for the team. Now, instead of putting a band-aid on the position, and waiting for him to return, we can go out and fill the spot.

Afterall, he was part of a DB package that sucked.

I agree...I've not been on the bandwagon of Davis returning, but this might change my mind. Who else is available or will become available June 1st?

    Re: Question

What future money? We pay him nothing.

If you are talking about the cap impact, not sure.

We get the salary back already, and a portion of this year’s bonus does not count (not certain). Now, if we cut him, that could change. This may be a situation where we are better off waiting until next year to officially cut him. We pay him nothing, regardless.

I'm don't think Anderson was being counted on for anything anyway. Even without this, he was looking at starting the season on the PUP for at least 6 weeks.

From what I read, we weren't expecting anything from him this season anyway.

That cap money gives us Davis for sure, if we want, MIGHT save Jay Williams, but either way, it helps us.

From that perspective, I totally agree. He wasn't part of our future plans.

I just feel lied to with this whole 3 incident business. Like mags said, neck injury my ass. Three times in two years. He is apparently a bigger fuckup than I imagined.

It's amazing he would get into this after going pro. One would assume he didn't have this problem in college or he would've dropped in the draft. Or maybe the Panthers didn't do their homework.
