    Ok this has been driving me mad since the song came out, but i NEED to know where she's got that melody from.

    it is a "borrowed" melody from i think the 50's or 60's and it was originally a woman talking about a man doing something and she said no no no... I'm going mad here trying to figure it out and Google isn't helping.

    Anyone?

    yeah i found that... but i'm 110% positive that she's stolen the melody from somewhere and when i first heard the song i had the original lyrics in my head, but now that rehab thing has overtaken it and i can't get them back!

    Now that you brought it up...seems to be someone like Billy Holiday or another black singer did something like that. THANKS a lot...now it's driving me crazy.

    And I'm thinking I was watching a movie on TV where the lady sang that song. OLD black and white movie. They were like at a bar/club and the lady was singing it.

    I don't doubt that she wrote every word. Its the melody in the chorus....
