No, PP was the one who gave his opinion. Gridfaniker attacked PP's opinion, which I challenged, then gridfaniker started losing his temper talking about masterbation and Pujols' schlong, then I insulted him with the "bowl obstruction" thing, then he insulted me more, then I obliterated him, and then he fired back at me. Blah, blah, blah.

One thing I will say is that when you come right down to it, we don't appear to be disagreeing on much. Neither of us think Pujols has already proven himself to be the greatest hitter ever or even close to it, yet. We differ somewhat on his accomplishments so far, although I think gridfaniker's subsequently foolish comments on that count are more about defensiveness over his initial rebuke of PP rather than an honest underestimation of Pujols' historical significance.

PP didn't need me to stand up for him, I just took it upon myself to do so because gridfaniker corrected PP without seeming to know just how special Pujols has been. He gets himself into deeper trouble when he gets upset, like that latest "you can throw most of what Pujols has done out the window" nonsense. That's where he really looks like a damn fool who doesn't know what he's talking about. Pujols, at least thus far, is extraordinary and almost unprecedented.

It was a mistake for me to get ugly, but I didn't like gridfaniker's dismissive attitude towards the facts, and somehow this all became theater. I could go on and post clever things like how gridfaniker is Argument #1 for Roe vs. Wade, but it's all silliness at this point.

If this isn't the biggest backdoor admission of wrongness I don't know what is. Collin got owned and now is singing a different tune.

 

Owned? I thrashed gridfaniker factually and my insults were far better. But I can also admit that it was silly and immature of me to help escalate the situation. Nothing backhanded about that.
