    Dell has $400 off $1299 and up, so shipped and taxed this thing is $1033. Got a His Res display, good GPU, processor. Has 15 months of McAfee and a nice carry case for wifey. Here go.

    Meat I will say if you're gonna get Vista I'd at least bump it to Home Premium instead of Basic. MS shouldn't even bother selling basic, its a waste of money.

    It might make the IT guy's job easier but in terms of usability and stability I think it sucks.

    Only thing I've found unstable is on occassion IE after a long down time fucks up when its first upen. After closing and reopening it that fixes the issue. Usability is extremely easy. Its also more secure and prevents viruses. People bitched about MS not preventing software from running without user permission and now bitch because they warn people before it does. Makes no sense.

    I bought her the dell with vista premium. I actually went to the apple store to look at the macbooks - what I bought would've been double.

    They are kinda neat, though. Not double neat.
