I recently went for a "mapping" of allergies and I'm allergic to just about everything. No wonder I feel icky most of the time:mad: . Cat and dog hair, grasses, weeds, trees and molds. 19 total and this just a regional exposure.

I began treatment three weeks ago, and I'll have the treatments for three to five years!!! After each round of shots I'll feel the full effect of the allergies for about three days. Clariton doesn't do much for relief. Anyone deal with this? You have my sympathies.

Just had mine done a few weeks ago. They have me on Flonaz, twice a day and Zertec(sp?) once a day. Flonaz is a steriod spray and has helped but it does make you feel weird and the Zirtec makes me drowsy so I only take it before bed.

And yeah, It would have been easier to give me a list of what I wasn't allergic to.

I go back in about a month for a check up.

They said if things haven't improved then it will be shots.

I chose the shot immunization route 'cause I hate taking pills and it really is only a bandaid. Shots, though drawn out over several years really sucks, I want to be cured before it affects me when I'm older. I was told that allergies can cause lung disease later.

Since insurance won't cover the allergy testing (well mine won't), I've avoided doing the whole allergy test stuff to find out what I'm allergic to. I keep pretty good by taking Allergra-D and doing the Nasonex nose spray. I tried the Zyrtec one time and it made my legs feel like jello. I could barely stand up after 2 days of taking it. Needless to say, I didn't need allergy testing to say I have some kind of allergy to it. LOL But I keep up with my medicine and pay for it when I don't. Good luck with the shots.

I took shots for 7 years and I am still just as miserable now as I was when I started. With the right combination of medications, you can handle your allergy systems. I take allegra D and Singulair at night and a generic clariton in the morning and I make it through the day ok, the Flonase or nose spray works well also. I have had allergy problems since I was 6 years old and I am 38 now, it never goes away, you learn the right way to handle it. Visine makes a good eye drop for itchy watery eyes. Good luck

Move to the city. Getting away from all that wildlife and into those exhaust fumes will do you good.

I'm deep in year 2 of shot therapy. I hate when I have a shot cause I feel sick for a coupla days - like today. I think its working, because I feel better on my off days, but it still concerns me that I have such a strong reaction to the allergens. I thought that was the point?

I feel like crap for a couple days too. I can't wait for winter for some relief. Having three cats and two dogs makes it rough.
