Wesley Walls. I personally can forgive the whining, though I look down a bit on it. We had a crap season last year, and I think he wanted to make things happen. If he wanted more passes coming his way because he wanted more glory or a better paycheck, I'd be down on him. He just doesn't have that type of personality though.
The dude straps it on no matter how much pain he's in, and is only taken off the field when he totally breaks something. He's tough. I once read about the rituals he has to go through before games because of all the injuries he's sustained through the years, and he still comes up with the big gainers. He is the epitomy of old school, all whining comments aside.

PF, don't get me wrong. I still like Walls, I just lost some respect for him. Other players on the team were down too but players like Minter and Weinke were saying what they need to do as a team, Walls and Williams were more about me in their statements.

Pete Metzalarz even though his best years were behind him. Even though he was a Bill and killed the Dolphins time and again with his catches. I got to exchange a few words with him before the Atlanta game at Clemson. Cool guy.

Did you know he caught the first regular season TD pass by a Panther. At Atlanta. Good for a bar bet.

No doubt. But who caught the first TD (of the opening drive of the season) versus the Falcs in 96?

Walls - scratch that, he used to be, crybaby status moves him out.

Collins - Whoos scratch that, he left us hangning... aside from that he was a great leader in '96 and was a true leader at the QB slot.

Morgan - I think when all is said and done, he'll be my favorite

    Beurlein hands down

This guy has never gotten respect, was sacked 69 times in one season, and has always quietly put together wins.

I feel that if Beurlein had our current o-line, and chuck smith hadn't been a complete bust, we would have contended for the superbowl.

The best test of our skill every season is how well we do versus Atlanta. In our best years, we either sweep them, or go 1-1. In our worst, we hand them 2 of their 4 victories.

Green was just fun to watch except the last year when he was only out there for the money he didn't have anything at all.

Collins before the busted jaw busted his nerve.

Sam Mills before his body quit

And Floyd Griffiths in front of AJ for 3 or 4, 20 times a game.

Geez I miss those days. Damn pollan for gutting the team Damn JR for pissing off pollan and making him gut the team. A wiser move would have been to let pollan run it until he got tired of it and make junior an assistant to for a number of years, then takeover when Pollan retired.
