All this about Duke choking in the tourney

I would say they have likely choked is they don't make the final 8....barring injury. Losing to a 2 seed isn't choking in my book.

Well I am sure that's not choking in your book since we are talking dook. But as you said earlier they would be losing to an inferior team. You know that they are only 2 or 3 teams out there that have the same level of a team as dook.

 

I would say UCONN, Memphis, Texas, Villanova, and Gonzaga are all arguably as good as Duke. We are talking about a coinflip or race in poker terms with those teams. Might throw Pitt in there as well.

 

I was going to apologize for leaning that way, but then I thought, "What do I have to apologize about?" You said something about being "physically mentally" better, or something to that effect. I just want to know what you meant by that. As an impartial reader.

It is certainly subjective. I would have a problem if Texas got one and Duke didn't. But how do you compare teams that haven't played each other or even similar schedules? Duke deserves one by all subjective measures. But what does that really mean?

 

So why would you have a problem if Texas got a number one seed and dook didn't? You said they are arguably as good as dook. Is that because of the one game?

 

Because that is actually an objective measure.
