    Well, it's pretty damned obvious that they're not bringing Sims in to be the star LT for the next 10 years, since he just got cut and will sign pretty cheap. Call me crazy.

    Getting rid of Bridges is probably the #1 reason we're trying to sign the guy.

    There's something inbetween 10 year star and starting for a few years. Think Stuessie with the same false start problems but probably never as good.

    What I've read with respect to him coming here mentions him still being starter quality. If they are looking at him they may be considering him as a starter.

    Guess we'll find out but the goal should be to have starter quality depth, which we haven't had for a while.

    If we move up high enough to get Gholsten, we won't have a second round pick.

    If we had to play today we could field an OL like this:

    Sims
    Wharton
    Kalil/Hartwig
    Vincent
    Gross

    That might be better than what we had last year. Maybe Wharton stays at LT and Sims goes to guard. Hopefully we add a guy in the draft who can start.

    I would not pay what it would take to get Gholston. If he were somehow to fall to 13 sure but he is looking like top 5 right now and that is too much money and too many draft picks to give up.
