an unbeaten SEC team should play VaTech if the Hokies run the table (assuming USC and Texas win out). Maybe they want to prevent the winner of that game (Bama/Georgia vs. Tech) from trying to claim a share of the title.

As for the Big East comment, I'm thinking Louisville or WVa could hang with some of the SEC's best. Stranger things have happened, like the 91 Fiesta Bowl. :imagestor

If VaTech wins out,(BC, Miami, & probably Fl.St.) its very possible their strength of schedule will get them into #2 position.

concursome. Aside from Ohio State, who the fuck has Texas played that's worth a shit. The Big 12 is one sorry conference right now. Oklahoma? Nebraska? Texas Fucking Tech? Please. How the fuck did a computer rank Texas higher than USC.

If you look at conference strength, this year, it would be horseshit for an unbeaten SEC team to be left out in the cold.

think I heard on the radio that tech wouldnt pass texas if they both win out regardless. Thats why you dont even hear Georgia or Alabama come up in any National title talk. it's a 3 way race..barely

I wouldn't doubt it. Politics have a lot to do with who is in the top 5 in the preseason. They actually had Oklahoma at #5 preseason. I'd like to see Georgia and Alabama go undefeated and play in the SEC title game. How would you keep one of those teams out of playing the title game. It's the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. I mean, you should have at least a four team playoff or an 8 team playoff at the worst.
