Just finished watching that movie. It is one of the worst movies I have ever seen and 2 1/2 hours long. I will get the friend who recommended it. I now owe her one.

I liked it, my wife hated it.

I disliked the ending, or what became the ending. The movie has a natural ending, with him praying eternally for the pixie to grant his wish. Then it keeps going for another half an hour so Stephen can have his feel good ending.

But if you lop off that last 30 minutes, and just end it there, it's a good movie. I thought the bit where he sees a bunch of robots just like him, packaged and ready to be sold, that was a bit disturbing. Very Kubrickish.

Stanley would not have mucked up the movie with the sentimental gibberish at the end, though.

Piper, we definitely have different taste. I thought it was slow and boring and way too long, even if they had lopped off the last 30 minutes.

I'm a huge fan of Staley Kubrick films (Lolita, 2001, A Clockwork Orange). I even like Eyes Wide Shut.

He had a very cold, abstract style. You see the emotions, but you don't really feel them.

This movie was his last idea. Speilberg did it as a tribute to him.
