Wow, that's interesting. I have AI in my fantasy league and thought it was a little strange reading that he wasn't named a Captain on the Nuggets (although he was one last year.) They mentioned that he said it wouldn't be an issue but was taken aback by it. Carmelo and Kenyon Martain were named the co-captains.

I wonder if this trade will be finalized before tonight's game, it's hard to imagine after the leak that Billups and McDyess would play tonight. I guess we'll see in a couple of hours, could be a nice break for the Bobcats.

DJ, doesn't look like they are playing tonight......

Detroit Pistons coach Michael Curry wouldn't spill, but it's pretty obvious a trade of Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess to the Denver Nuggets for Allen Iverson is imminent.

Billups and McDyess weren't at morning shootaround, in preparation for tonight's game against the Charlotte Bobcats. Curry would only say Billups and McDyess had an "excused absence,'' and wouldn't speculate on trades.

However, it was common knowledge around the Pistons that a trade is well down the road. Center Rasheed Wallace joked it's not yet, "Guaran-Sheed,'' but he anticipates playing with Iverson.

"Another scorer back there, with Rip" Hamilton, Wallace said of how the Pistons would change. "We'll see how it plays out. It's not a 'Guaran-Sheed' right there, so I can't comment too much until it actually happens.''

This would break up the core that won the NBA championship in 2004, under current Bobcats coach Larry Brown. Brown also coached Iverson in Philadelphia.

"Everyone was, I guess, shocked by it,'' Wallace said of the anticipated trade. "But we've still got to roll with the punches. It's part of the business.''

The deal works under NBA salary-cap rules and would save the Pistons about $30 million in cap responsibility over the next three seasons. Iverson, who makes about $20.8 million this season, becomes an unrestricted free agent in July.
