A healthy season will make us better instantly. We have been hit pretty hard with injuries the past two years.

I would just as soon not see them make a big splash. That almost always is a mistake. I would rather they sign several guys who are good rather than one or two guys who are supposed to be great.

Guys like Rod Coleman are the type we want to look at. We do not want to pay half the cap for a guy like Faneca.

there's still the Peppers situation that needs to be addressed. If he balks at a contract that's Freeney money plus inflation, I don't see that there's anything to do but trade him at that point. Getting what you can for him while you have the chance is better than getting a comp pick from the league for him.

I'd like to try and swing a deal or two more prior to the draft to pick up a few more picks. 13 to Minnesota for 17, 82, and 184 works out according to the trade value chart as does 43 to Arizona for 50 and 112. The Minnesota deal combined with the Jets deal gives us the ammo to move up should some one slip.

Freeny money plus inflation??? I would rather let him play his contract out that do that. He needs to prove he is worth that. I would give him something like Justin Smith just got from the 49ers if he wanted a long term deal right now.
