So does anybody here have any good tips for trying to stop caffeine consumption? I can't seem to stop cold turkey drinking coffee or sodas( get headaches ). Trying to gradually reduce consumption doesn't work either, I can reduce it just fine, just can't completely stop it without the headaches.

Fever, try cutting back gradually. If you drink coffee, put half regular and half decaf. Do that for a few days and then gradually make it more and more decaf. Same with tea and colas.

True, maybe back to that extreme, but your body does crave it and you can have some bad mojo happen to you when trying to stop.

    Re: Re: Addiction to Caffeine

I am gonna have to try that, I have a few times in the past, but just isn't easy. I really want to get back to where I drink nothing but water, skim milk and juice. On occasion maybe have coffee or tea but that to be very rare.

I stopped cold turkey about 7 years ago. The night I slept for 30 minutes, then had to drive 30 miles to Lawrence to work, I decided to get myself off of caffeine. I rarely have caffeine since I find that I don't sleep well if I have some. I actually drink a lot of water since I've been on the Atkins. Flavored water.....

Just know that I understand what you're going through with the caffeine and how your body reacts to not having any. Good luck with whatever you try and find out that works!

It took me a week to slowly reduce my "Mt. Dew" craving. The first day I tried cold turkey I felt sick all day. Not easy.
    Good Luck!:)
