I really don't think that it is out of the realm of belief that the Garden of Eden is the African spot where man first decended from the trees.

Realizing that "myth" is not such a dirty word not only enriches the significance of religious stories on an inner level, it makes one's beliefs much easier to defend. Too few people realize that.

If they were related and married - they have to be in your neck of the nape...nape of the woods. So, how come you're here?

Edit - sorry hasbeens - I was thinking this thread was somewhere else - I edited a bit.

Didn't early man evolve in the rift valley?

I thought there was scientific proof of man origins in Africa?
If this is not so, please tell me?

To me..the bible is a book of moral stories, rather like Aesop fables.
It's a sort of moral guide.

I disagree. Jesus died for the sins of all mankind. That being the case, it really doesn't matter if sin originated with one man, or several.

From a practical standpoint, I agree. But I don't know that I agree that it's completely irrelevant. Jesus' geneological link to David was one of the prophecies he was destined to fulfill as Messiah.

I understand what you are saying but the resurrection is where the buck stops. If he met every other prophecy but that one what did he really meet?

Oh, I concur. If He checked all the prophecy boxes but didn't do the work on Calvary, it's meaningless.
