When the bible presents it as literal then yes it would.

Adam and Eve had other children. There was no rule or law against marrying your sister in those times. I think God changed the way DNA works when he created the laws against that sort of thing. In other words things worked differently back in the early days of Adam and Eve and Cain and Able.

Tradition holds that Moses wrote the first 5 books. He also wrote of his own death and birth. Pretty freakin' cool.

Most scholarship has long since put the notion of Moses the Author to rest but it still persists.

The scientist in me doesn't see it. If all that were true, then evolution would also hold, which would really screw everyone up.

Why could God not change the nature of the things he created if it suited his purpose?

Why would that mean evolution would hold true?

Because everything according to the bible created by God was already perfect. That in itself renders evolution impossible if you consider the bible a book of facts. I think Sly's definition as a book of truths would be better and more accurate. I believe there are stories in there that we can prove with historical accuracy. I simply do not believe in the divinity of the man named Jesus.

Because then one could say 'evolution' means 'changed by God'.

The Bible says, God saw that it was good. Not saw that it was OK.

Everything was perfect prior to Adam and Eve's sin. Once that happened God cursed the earth and things were no longer perfect.
