Shockley is 43 years old by now, played at home, and has a lot more experience. He also played against some tissue paper that WAC people call the Boise St. D.

Y'all really need to let this Vick thing go around here.

 

Here's what I think:

There are reasons Virginia Tech is a nationally ranked team, and reasons why State is still trying to get there:

1. they don't commit untimely penalties (see State defense, 2004)
2. they don't turn the ball over (no fumbles, no interceptions)
3. they run the ball in a time-consuming manner when they need to (State outgained VT with 11 less carries, but State wouldn't have been able to run down the clock at the end by running the ball)
4. they know when to turn their weapons loose (see Marcus Vick)
5. their defense not only makes plays, but they make plays with ferocity (State defenders made plenty of plays, but the VT guys were absolutely drilling people)

Amato's got his hands full. I would sit AJ Davis for a game. That would give him 3 weeks to think about his stupid and untimely penalties.

Eventually they're going to have to let Jay Davis make some throws downfield. The YAC for the State offense was impressive, but you can't play the short game forever.

And they're going to have to get a running game going. Bobby Washington didn't even make it into the game, and Toney Baker got 3 touches. There may be reasons for that, but VT ran the ball 20 more times than they threw it, and State passed the ball 15 more times than they ran it, and they weren't even behind most of the game.

what was up with all those homo State fans grabbing at Michael Vick as he was leaving the stadium? Some of them were panting and drooling.

My buddy was at the game and said people were talking shit nonstop to Vick. Of course they were calling him Ron Mexico.


On a side note- it's unfortunate that I have to pull against FSU tonight, but they're in State's division. I can't believe I will be rooting for Miami.

 

I guess I need to study up a little bit on who to go for. Just another way to help that ulcer along....

 

I don't know. Those numbers look a lot like Michael Vick's to me.

And while we're on the subject, it's an absolute disgrace that Marcus Vick is even allowed to play, much less have a scholarship. He was convicted of multiple serious misdemeanors and he gets a free pass just because he's fast and his older brother is the university's most famous alumnus? I expect Frank Beamer to have no soul, but I have been extremely disappointed in how the media has welcomed Vick with open arms. Seems like they suck all the dicks in that family. It reminds me of the way Oklahoma State got praised for giving JamesOn Curry a "second chance" instead of being called on the carpet for putting wins above integrity. How the media can blast college athletics for various offenses and then let criminals slide is beyond me.
