Each school will play a 16-game ACC schedule that includes two primary and nine rotating partners.

    Feb. 25, 2005

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Atlantic Coast Conference released the men's basketball scheduling model for the 2005-06, 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons as approved by the league's Faculty Representatives, Athletic Directors and Head Coaches.

The current 2004-05 schedule is a stand alone schedule based on a one year, 11-team format. For the next three seasons, each of the league's 12 member schools will play a 16-game conference schedule that includes two primary partners and nine rotating partners.

Each school will play its two primary partners home and road each season. Of each team's nine rotating partners, a team will play three on a home and road basis, three at home and three on the road.

After the third year of the 12-team schedule, each of the primary partners will have played each other six times. In addition, a team will have played each of their rotating partners four times.

I really wish they would make it 3 primary playing partners. The NC 4 should play each other twice a year. Anyone else remember the Big Four tournament? Great basketball

I don't see why they all can't play each other twice...that's only 22 games. Right now they play what...aprox. 27 games before the Conference Tournies start, maybe more? Who cares if they only have 5 or so games before Conference play starts? Not me.

Just schedule your Clemson and FSU games early and it won't be any different than having 10 non conferences games to start the season :)

The NC schools should always have home and home series. It's not right that Carolina-Wake didn't play twice this year. They could drop freaking Clemson down to one game for all the NC schools. Who gives a fuck about playing Clemson in basketball (well, Maryland might :laugh1: )?
