    I'm thinking Lousville would have been competitive in the Big East in the 80s.

    So look over the last five years.

    Final Fours

    1. SEC 3

    Appearances: Big 12, ACC, Big East and SEC are gonna be pretty close.

    maybe the SEC is the best conference, followed by the Big East, then the ACC. the key point being, of course, that the Big East is better than the ACC. ask Math to check the numbers. I think he'll concur.

    did I mention that Georgetown beat the snot out of the Tarheels last year? Or that UConn punked not one, but two ACC teams in the 04 final four.

    four years, and last year, hardly qualifies as glory days-type reminiscing, especially in the context of this thread (acc record vs. other conferences references all-time records). that was lame.

    as for RPI being a waste of time, you tell me. The selection committee pretty much came out and said they pay it no attention.

    Yeah, that all-time gap between the ACC and the Big East would be even greater if the BE hadn't pussied out and cancelled the yearly series.

    It's kind of important. If they won 75% of their games and 80% of them were home games, would you consider that an accomplishment?
