ACC Football Divisions

    I'm surprised this hasn't been discussed yet.

    Division A
    Maryland
    Clemson
    NC State
    Wake Forest
    Florida State
    Boston College

    Division B
    Virginia
    Georgia Tech
    Duke
    Miami
    Virginia Tech
    North Carolina




    Teams play all five opponents in own division plus one primary crossover in the opposite division and two rotating opponents in opposite division.

    The primary cross-divisional rivalries are Maryland-Virginia, Clemson-Georgia Tech, N.C. State-North Carolina, Wake Forest-Duke, Florida State-Miami, Boston College-Virginia Tech.


    If they had been so intent on setting up divisions based on current football strength, I wonder why they kept Miami and VTech in the same division.

    well there is now three power houses in the conference - Miami, FSU and Virginia Tech. There was going to be two in one divsion no matter how you look at it.

    everybody else is just pretenders and occasional contenders.

    Yeah, you're right. I just thought Miami and VTech seem to be more consistent than FSU lately. I really wanted State to be in the same division of at least one of the two. Strength of schedule and all that.
