Yea, I get that. But, UConn's a basketball powerhouse (men & women). Joining the ACC will just make the conference that much stronger. UConn will probadly be able to get several million more also for their school by quickly switching to the ACC even if this is only about football. The Big East is evaporizing right now. Until things change, the ACC is still known as mostly a basketball league & UConn will only reinforce that notion.

What about UCONN's basketball, um, NCAA violations. Would the ACC just ignore those for the potential basketball $$$.

Well, like every other NCAA violation, the school will acknowledge they made a mistake, announce some sort of corrective action plan, apologize to their fanbase, and accept whatever penalty gets thrown at them. The ACC's not squeaky clean, so they probadly would ignore the violations & welcome them into the fold.

The ACC doesn't give a shit about UConn. The Huskies will get an invite if Notre Dame ever decides to join, and the conference then needs a 16th team.

You may be right, but I'm expecting UConn to be announced as the ACC's 15th school any day now. They don't necessarily need a 16th team right away. Time will tell.

What part of "If the ACC had any interest in UConn & Rutgers then it would have already happened" did you not understand? UConn desperately wanted into the ACC, so if the ACC had any interest then it would have been done weeks ago.

If UCONN gets in its the 16th team to round out the conference. They will hold pat until either they find a program that will boost them in football OR they are forced to because all others go to 16.

We'll see. I don't believe anybody has said that the ACC is interested in Rutgers, but UConn's probadly going to happen.

The only reason Rutgers might get in is to secure the NYC market and to get the ACC Tournament at MSG. I don't know what sports they would be competitive in other than women's basketball.
