I keep trying to tell my brother this. He wants an SEC invite for WVU -I tell him he wants no part of an SEC schedule. 8-4 will be a good year.

Maybe he thinks the tougher/higher profile opponents/schedule will lead to WVU getting higher ranked recruits and thus having the ability to not get raped during an SEC football game?

LOL. Bro blew a gasket after the LSU KO return when WVU had cut it to 27-21.

WVU would be in the SEC East - which would help - but I can't see them being an SEC power. I just see a lot of coaches getting fired due to unreal fan expectations.

You've got to "up your game" to be in the SEC.

Which is why Clempson never needs to entertain the idea of going to the SEC. Their fans have unrealistic expectations and think they can step right in and be viable.

 I know a lot of Clemson fans are upset with the leadership of the ACC, and who wouldn't mind if the team changed conferences, but I don't know anyone who realistically thinks Clemson would be contenders in the SEC right away.

What is Clemson's major beef with the ACC leadership?
I get some of the issues that MD has had, but never really understood what Clemson's real problems are.

Several reasons I’ve heard (not necessarily a reflection on my opinion).

    1) Clemson fans have a long memory and haven’t forgotten how when the NCAA put Clemson on probation, Swofford spearheaded the charge to have the ACC add another year to the penalties already imposed by the NCAA. Clemson was guilty; no doubt about it, but the NCAA should have been in charge of the consequences. The punishment was harsh, including no televised games and adding a 3rd year really hurt. Now, under Swofford’s reign there are 3 ACC programs facing major allegations, including UNC.

    2) A lot think that no alumnus, or former athletic director, from a member institution should be the Commissioner of the conference. You had two schools from the conference (UNC and UVA) play each other on National TV in the CWS and while the Commissioner is interviewed, he's openly cheering for one school over the other.

    3) Losing the Gator Bowl tie in and not finding a decent replacement.

    4) Some think a better tv contract could have been negotiated.

These are things I've heard off the top of my head. Like I said, I don’t agree with them all, but really #1 clouds the judgment on all the others.
