    SAFETIES:

    Free Safety:
    27 Deunta Williams (6-2, 200, Jr-4) (14; 4 star)
    28 Jonathan Smith (6-2, 200, Jr-3) (35; 2 star)
    29 Brian Gupton (6-3, 200, So-3) (UR; 2 star) (fs/cb)

    Strong Safety:
    21 Da'Norris Searcy (6-0, 200, Jr-3) (8; 4 star)
    10 Melvin Williams (6-0, 200, Sr-4) (Juco; 4 star)
    25 Matt Merletti (5-11, 200, Jr-3) (UR; 2 star)

Needs: D. Williams is only a sophomore, but could possibly depart early with another stellar year and Gupton could stay at CB, so another FS or two should be added; All three returning SSs are juniors and seniors in 09, so another SS or two needs to be added for future depth.

Results: Campbell addresses the team's need for depth at FS and Hadley addresses the SS depth issue (Furr could also address the SS depth issue "if" he ends up here rather than RB

    - Terry Shankle (5-11, 175, Fr-1) (29; 4 star)

Davis is doing a great job up there, all these recruits still on the board to go along with the 15 recruits he has over the scholarship limit.

I understand people will transfer or academic disqualifications, but you can't have that big of a turnover on your team. He was stupid and started offering every player that said they're interested in UNC.

average players that still want to play and not want to sit on the bench and watch a freshman take over will obviously transfer to play somewhere else. BD feels the guys coming in have more talent, and will approach the average players "you can sit and watch or move on and play somewhere else". He's building HIS program.

Putting all your trust in a bunch of freshman is very risky.

it will be more like this year, sophmores and freshman, UNC still went 8-5.

Davis has continued to say it's a "work in progress". Those freshman will be juniors and should produce more.

    Laffing my ass off.

Now THAT is the recipe to building a healthy and stable program.
