Long story short. Recovering from a severe chest infection. They gave me a z pack, steriods and an abuterol inhaler. Done with the z pack, decreasing the steriod and I still use the inhaler.

Question. Seems when I use the inhaler it actually makes it worse. Chest tightens up and I cough really hard. Should I stop using the inhaler? The coughing is wearing me out.

    thanks.

My opinion is call the nurse at the dr's office and ask. All I know about that stuff is it makes you shakey.

Just your chest, or difficulty breathing? Do you have hives? I think you shouldn't take any more doses until consulting your Dr. Albuterol is supposed to relax your muscles, not tighten them.

No hives. It is supposed to loosen the congestion and help me clear my chest.

Correct, I wouldn't wait to call your Dr. Adverse reactions are not something to screw around with.
