Why would the new owner of the Charlotte team even consider hiring that Silas guy as head coach?

He is a loser overall---He made derogatory comments about the fans before he left Charlotte--He made derogatory comments about the citizens of Mecklenburg County and how they voted on the arena deal when in fact he was not even a registered voter himself.
Is there not any other coaches that the new team could woo?

the main reason I believe is the fact he's a VERY good coach of YOUNGER players... which is what we will have coming in... he's a solid teacher.

hey putt, was that David Wesley you are thinking about? im know some of the players made some comments but I dont remember Silas taking any shots. I seem to remember him saying he loved his house on the golf course and didnt want to move. I remember Wesley saying some things, probably because he just built his dream house here and didnt want to go to NO.

I think Coach Silas lived in the teeny, tiny town of Marvin . . . I think its at the tip of Union County where Mecklenburg & Lancaster (SC) meet at  . . . .

If he lived in Marvin and on a golf course, it was probably Firethorne Country Club. I wouldn't want to give it up either, I'm sure it was really nice there. Well, maybe when he earns the salary he deserves, he can own a house wherever he wants.

Anybody ping Gerry V. on the latest move?

but I dont remember Silas taking any shots. QC

I might have it mixed up but I thought he made a few remarks about fan support there at the end. Either way, the new team does not ,in my opinion, need any connection to the Hornets of the old days.;)

i dont remember silas lambasting the fans, but i do remember some regret he had for them not coming out to support the players- he felt that they didnt deserve getting shunned due to the owners. anyway, silas was a consumate pro- he took the brunt of the relocation saga with class and the 2 dumbfuck owners got fat in NOLA. i'd love to have silas back in charlotte.

I still don't get it. Just because Silas is a good man does not make him a good coach. Granted he is a "plain" coach and fills the position. I only recall him going to the playoffs a couple years but the way the NBA is set up, you would about have to be blind, dumb and stupid not to get to the first round. Hell, you don't even have to have a winning record to go to the playoffs.
The new team needs to steer away from any history of the old team.
How long has Silas been a head coach ?
