A-Rod

Making $29 mill this season & not playing.

 

Seems unfair that he gets all the criticism when Swisher, Granderson, and Cano have been equally awful.

 

It's already been said that Swisher won't be back next year, so they must be setting the stage for A-Rod & Granderson to be traded somehow after the season's over. Must be something else going on behind the scenes with A-Rod. As bad as they're hitting, I would still have them all in the line-up until it's done.

 

Rumor has it (reported by NY Post) during game one A-Rod was flirting with some chick in the stands in between innings having a clubhouse kid go to her with a autographed baseball and his phone number asking if she wanted to "hookup" tonight after the game. Yankee brass got wind of it and were pissed and thus benched for the last two games. I could see him getting in trouble but how do you bench someone making so much?

He is also being rumored to be getting traded to Miami.

Who knows

Yeah, I don't buy the Post story. They hate him and run shit all the time. A-Rod is sucking because he's old, creaky, and it's been a long season. He has a tendency to drop his back shoulder, which makes his swing longer and have more of an upward plane. His declining slugging percentage has to be a major concern for the Yankees going forward given how much they're paying, plus his K-rate was the highest of his career (although 21.9% is still average or slightly above for a home run hitter). NY needs to hire a legitimate hitting coach and a better training staff.
