McFly, Did i miss some news about the Bungals draft ideas? What are they going to do if not QB?

As for 2004 class QBs . . . I know that TFY says Roethlisberger should be the #1 pick overall and Clausen and Lewis(Stanford) might be coming out in '04. Who else?

I can live with that. Even if you'd have said a #2 next year, I wouldn't have jawdropped. It'd have been high but I'm just so phobic about trading off #1s if not needed. And if we get the right guy, that's not a bad price.

Problem is, if Fox isn't about young QBs, trading up is moot. Johnson's the shizz but there are other receivers. A QB you fall in love with, you gotta go get.

I believe all this talk about drafting a QB is moot. Fox has said all along that his offense will feature the run game. To feature the run game you need a feature running back. Right now, barring a miracle from Deshaun Foster, we aint got one. Fox will keep his picks, draft a RB (hopefully) or an offensive lineman (hopefully not), and try to pick up inexpensive free agents for the passing game.

Yup, I really want us to go get Eli but I'm afraid Fox and Hennings don't have the patience to develop a rook QB.(

With every underclassman who declares (specifically Manning MaGahee and Woods) the better talent we get with the #9 pick. IMO there are guys that just won’t be falling to us. Dallas or Houston would take MaGahee. Chicago Arizona or even Jacksonville would grab Manning (if we don’t get smart and trade up for him). Woods would probably just fall right to us unless Andre is already gone and Jacksonville takes him. After AJ abuses Oh St he is more likely to be a top 8 pick. The Jags should probably take Suggs, McDougle or trade down for one of the DBs, but I get the feeling that they will want what we want (WR and QB). The Jags are probably going to make many of us hate them even more by grabbing coveted players right in front of us all through the draft.

    The top 10?

    Palmer
    Leftwich
    Rogers
    Kennedy
    Wilfork or Robertson
    Suggs
    A Johnson
    Manning
    MaGahee
    Woods

With the possible exception of MaGahee (a 100% Foster or FA Davis would make him superfluous) any of those would help us. Though we do “need” offense I would even be psyched about Suggs if it was clear that he was the best on the board at our pick. Peppers, Rucker, Jenkins, Buckner, Fields and/or Suggs comin’!? Now that would suck deeply for any OC to game plan for. We could also use one of the stud underclassman DTs to pair with Jenkins.

Hopefully JR,Fox, or Henning will "fall in love with" Eli and pry him away from Brittany.)

BTW- I'd like to start the rumor that Leftwich is nailing Christina Aguilera, but there is probably a long line forming around her amusement park of an ass for THAT all you can engulf buffet! She’s probably able to rent out her blown out bayousque batch o’ snatch for UN conventions by now. Hell, she could probably even validate everybody's parking in there too! :D

well that's kinda my thinking too. and it won't be about what's fair or what SD gave up. it'll be about how high is the bidding going to go and how bad are we in lust.

last nite i dreamed we traded Peppers straight up for Cincy's first two picks. took Leftwich and Rogers fell to us at 10. everybody on the 'board blamed me. when you start dreaming about the 'board, ya know ya need to take a vacation. and, no the sheets weren't wet when i woke up.

You missed the fact that Kitna played well. I expect they will trade down w/ someone hot for Palmer or Leftwich. Despite the tackles playing good, their running game was not. I'd look for them to possibly look for an interior lineman or Defensive front 7.
A new coach will change the possibilities.

The Class of 2004 has guys like Roethlisberger and:
CMP ATT YDS CMP% YDS/A TD INT SACK RAT
    Dinwiddie (Boise St) - 117 173 2123 67.6 12.27 19 3 14 203.5
    Schneider (C. Fla) - 265 430 3770 61.6 8.77 31 16 12 151.6
    Krenzel (OSU) - 141 228 1988 61.8 8.72 12 5 29 148.1
    Schaub (Virginia) - 272 396 2794 68.7 7.06 27 7 22 146.9
    McBrien (Maryland) - 151 265 2377 57.0 8.97 15 10 13 143.5

With the exception of Roethlisberger, all these guys were top 15 statistically this year. Dinwiddie is mentioned as a darkhorse for the Heisman by some and I like what I have seen of Schneider, Schaub & McBrien.

T, I don't think anybody even read your article other than me.

I'll go with Manning to get Britney in the crowd here. :) Hell, she'd fill up the stadium.

And if she comes here, I WILL get pictures. ;)

All that being said, I still doubt we get Manning.
