Those who believe in reincarnation (multiple lives), what led you to this belief? Was it an experience you had? A feeling? Has someone revealed to you evidence of a past life through hypnosis? Please explain. :)

for me its logic and my religion. i believe there are too many events in one life for us to fully balance our souls- reincarnation is an opportunity or a reflection of our actions in past lives, to either recoup or suffer.

Thanks, Lj. :) The word that caught my eye was reflection. Is that based on an inference at one's current life position and circumstances, or is there a way to actually retrieve memories from former lives?

i wasn't inferring upon memory, but moreso your next life will reflect the deeds and actions you have committed in your past lives, to a large extent.

for me it just doesnt make sense any other way. i dont believe completely in heaven or hell as described. but I dont think we go away and rot. I think it is like a sports game. You go in and come out at the coaches discretion until finally everyone comes out. what happens when everyone is gone i am not sure. I dont think deeds in your last life have a bearing on who or what you comeback as. i think its based on certain attributes that your soul (if thats what you want to call it) posses and can be utilised in different situations.

In other words, if you're born into a life as a crippled beggar, would that force one to think, "Man, I must have royally screwed up in my last life, I'd better do better in this one"?

Not to be disrespectful or to ridicule, but are you saying you believe life is figuratively like the movie Groundhog Day to an extent? Again, I'm not attempting a joke, I'm trying to get a better understanding. :)

But that 'next life' isn't like this one here, is it? Aren't you referring to a life with God in heaven, or on the new earth and the new Jerusalem? Or am I wrong?

I think we are reincarnated multiple times in an attempt to improve upon previous lives.Hopefully we actually begin to live our lives according to the Golden Rule. There have been too many reports of past life memories and past life regressions. Here is a interesting site....http://home.btclick.com/scimah/Rebirth.htm
